Project Aid

The first fund raising event of India Foundation to support an organization working with the disabled was held on July 29, 2005. The organization supported was Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled. Founded in 1997 by three visually impaired friends, the Trust works towards providing opportunities and the much needed break in life for visually challenged young adults.

On July 29, 2005, some of these talented young people delighted and touched the people of Fayetteville with their amazing performance of Indian classical dance, folk music and mimicry. What the audience witnessed that day was the triumph of will over matter.
